Student Computer Technology Requirements

Laptop Guidelines
|
The UA College of Medicine has defined a policy requiring all incoming medical students to own a laptop computer and bring it to class on a regular basis. To do this, the College of Medicine has established minimum standards for hardware and software to enable students to access the Web, e-mail, and primary information resources such as the ArizonaMed online digital curriculum and the Arizona Health Sciences Library.

High-Speed Internet Access for Incoming Students

NetID Guidelines
|
The College of Medicine highly recommends that students who live where DSL or Cable Modem Internet access is available acquire this high-speed internet service at your home. This is vital for viewing the educational website and materials, checking e-mail, connecting with the Health Sciences Library, and acquiring information via the web. The College of Medicine discourages the use of AOL as an Internet service provider because of incompatibilities with our online systems.
